Cascadia Winery

Sorry, Cascadia Winery is closing in Washington State.  I have accepted the position as Director of Facilities / Chief Winemaker of the Monterey Wine Company in King City, CA.  I have some photos and descriptions that I will build upon on my Cascadia Winery facebook page.  There is a possibility that I can transfer my bond to California and one day create my wines at the Monterey Wine Company.  For now, being involved in a 2 million gallon winery is my priority.  I will announce on the Cascadia Winery facebook page when I will return for some weekend sales of merchandise, wine, and furnishings that remain at Cascadia Winery.  Steep discounts.  Probably the weekends of Dec 21st and 28th.  Will confirm later.  Best, Alan

Cascadia Winery opened its doors in December 2006. I have been in the wine industry since graduating in 1988 from U.C. Davis with an enology degree.  I will be pouring the wines during your visit to the tasting room.

WINES: I focus on providing a spectrum of unique wines with many at reasonable prices. Besides traditional wines, e.g. Merlot, I produce a less common wine, Roussanne. Further, Cascadia is the only winery in the region producing Apple Wine.  This is a visitor favorite. The Apple Wine is also a great marinade for chicken, pork, and even steaks.  Seasoning rubs are optional prior to grilling, baking, or searing and finishing it off in a simmering sauce.  Cascadia is the only winery in the state producing the "Sakura" Cherry-Merlot dessert wine.  Its sole source of 10% sweetness is from 100% cherry juice blended with merlot.  Some chefs use Sakura for their personal cooking as an ingredient for steak, pork loin marinade, duck breast, and lamb sauces.

Apple Blush:  Intoduced in February 2013, Apple Blush, is available in the "Specialty Wine" category. This is the only wine of its type in the state. It is a drier version of the apple wine that is pink from a blend of pure red raspberry.  A very versatile wine. 2013 Silver Medal at the Riverside International..

Roussanne: Released in June 2013, the 2012 Roussanne received a Gold Medal at the prestigious Seattle Wine Awards.

Stop by for a taste and also see the gift shop and tour the lab and cellar.

All the best,
